Guess what today is!
{Celebrating the books we’ve read in the past week
& the titles we are currently reading.}
This meme is originated by Jen and Kellee at TeachMentorTexts. Thanks!
Last week was a GREAT reading week for me. I found two books I could hardly stop reading. That makes a huge difference in my reading life. How are YOU doing finding great books? That’s part of why I’m going to give you a few minutes again to talk with your classmates to find out what great books they’re reading. Use the time wisely.
Did this scare my socks off? No.
Did it give me the chills a couple times? For sure.
I’ll plan on writing a bit more about Ghostlight as its publication nears.
Look for it on August 4th, 2015.

As soon as I saw a new Rebecca Stead book available on Netgalley, I requested it immediately. It didn’t disappoint.
How much did I like Goodbye Stranger? I could hardly put it down. The characters were fascinating, and I enjoyed the way Stead told it from third person point of view with Bridge (the girl on the cover with the cat ears) as the central character, but threw in an occasional mysterious second person point of view from a different character.
Stead captured young teen vernacular and dealt with some major issues that students of this age face.
I look forward to writing more about this book closer to its birthday. Don’t miss out on this one.
Goodbye Stranger is born on August 4th.

Glad to be of service 👍
Hi I’m jacks mom and I’m reading gone girl
Amazing book. I’m looking forward to watching the movie.
Not appropriate for 6th graders, though—wouldn’t you agree?
Goodbye Stranger – thank you. Just requested the ARC… shall see if I get the chance to enjoy sooner than later. 🙂 Happy reading to you.
I thought you might want to grab that one 🙂
Oh yes… I haven’t spent as much time on Netgalley since Scholastic switched over to Edelweiss… appreciate your keen eye. I also just got Dear Hank Williams, excited to read that one… 🙂
Wait—Scholastic & Edelweiss?
Scholastic quit posting books to Netgalley in the fall and switched over to Edelweiss/Above the Treeline… I was emailed about it in August/September I think… I have preapproval which means I tend to read a lot of Scholastic titles so I forget to check Netgalley consistently…
