My name is David Etkin and I teach reading and writing at Sweet Home Middle School in Amherst, NY. I have been working hard to get great books into my students’ hands. The best way is to be a reader myself and stay current with the books for my students. This breeds an excitement in the classroom that is contagious.
Mr.Ekin are we allowed to have books from home and bring them to school
Of COARSE!!! As long as you’re reading good books.
Email might be better for this… 👍🏻

Hey Darrius. Isn’t it a great feeling to find a book that is a pleasure to read instead of a chore? I think this is the beginning to great things for you :~}

Thank you, anonymous person 😃
Mr Etkins I love to read and cannot wait to read A long walk to water. Thanks for the suggestion. Solomon’s mom Kim Shabazz!
I’m so glad to hear it. If you want, Solomon can borrow a class copy for you. And if you like it, I have another recommendation for you. :-). Thanks for commenting.
Hi David, Thanks for sharing your Wonder School project. Did you use Animoto stock music for your video? I would like to do something similar with my 5th graders. Can I please have your permission to do this? Thanks for sharing all your great ideas. My students are trying to read their “40 books” this year. It is all coming together nicely! You are an inspiration to all of us!
Thank you so much for the kind words. You are totally welcome to make your own 1-2-3 WONDER projects. I’d love to see them when you do, as would @libraryfanatic and @polkadotowlblog.
The music is from the WONDER “soundtrack”–songs mentioned in the book. Any more questions, please let me know.
